It includes both published data and unpublished records from the collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum. Keywords: enumeration, Hungary, Myxomycètes INTRODUCTION In the first part of his critical, serial publication about the fungi of Hungary, Gusztáv Moesz Hungarian mycologist has discussed the species of Myxomycètes (MOESZ 1926). In this work Moesz enumerated 101 species of which 49 were reported from the present territory of Hungary. The last 80 years, which have brought considerable taxonomic and nomenclatural changes, provided many new data from Hungary and these recent acquisitions are available for re-assessment. The aim of the present study is to summarise the data concerning Myxomycètes species of Hungary in a form, which reflects the advances in the field of nomenclature. RESULTS The present checklist enumerates 164 species and 5 varieties. It includes data published in various papers and unpublished records from the collection preserved in the Botanical Department of the Hungarian Natural History Museum (BP). In the collection of BP altogether 1,642 capsules of Myxomycètes collected in the present territory of Hungary are deposited. The most frequent species found in Hungary are listed in Table 1. Based on the collection data Lycogala epidendrum is the most frequently occurring Studia Botanica Hungarica, 39, 2008 Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest
