Lophozia collaris is a vulnerable (VU) liverwort. Barbilophozia hatcheri, Myurella julacea, Plagiobryum zierii, Syntrichia norvegica are in the category of lower risk (LR), while Fabronia pusilla, Neckera pumila and Philonotis caespitosa are in the data deficient category (DD). CONCLUSIONS The conservational importance of the area was recognised long time ago. Plans of declaring the Orjen Mts as a national park were formulated previously but the disintegration of Yugoslavia, the turmoil of civil war and standstill of tourism halted their realisation. UNESCO has declared the Natural and Cultural-Historical Region of Kotor a World Heritage site.
