Timmia austriaca Hedw. - 8: exposed limestone rocks Tortula grandiretis Broth. - 2: soil among exposed limestone rocks (det. H. Kürschner andj. Kucera) Except of 13 species, namely Brachytheciastrum velutinum, Bryum caespiticium, Cratoneuron filicinum, Distichium capillaceum, Eurhynchiastrum pulchellum, Grimmia anodon, Grimmia laevigata, Grimmia ovalis, Homalothecium sericeum, Hypnum revolutum, Palustriella falcata, Pohlia melanodon, Syntrichia ruralis, all other 45 species are recorded for the first time in the B 10 grid square of Turkey (HENDERSON and PRENTICE 1969). Tortula grandiretis is a highly interesting record, although this species is already known from Turkey; Egirdir area, Isparta Province (CRUNDWELL et al. 1978). The new locality is a range extension towards Central Asia. It was recently reported from Iraq (KÜRSCHNER and FREY 2006). Tortula obtusifolia is commonly confused with forms of T. muralis, but it was reported earlier from the A4 and C13 grid squares of Turkey (HENDERSON 1961). * * * Acknowledgements - The author expresses many thanks to Gökhan Abay, who kindly supplied bryological papers dealing with the investigated area. From E. Maier (Geneva), W. Schröder (Ludwigsstadt-Ebersdorf) and H. Kürschner (Berlin) and J. Kucera (Ceské Budejovice) confirmation, determination or revision of some specimens were gratefully received. Part of the specimens used in this study was collected by K. Lakatos (Budapest). The valuable help of Mustafa Arsin (Dogubayazit) during the field trips is acknowledged. A part of the field trips were financially supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
