Pifkó, Dániel: Kitaibel's Cytisus taxa
data and specimens of Kitaibel at hand, was more than timely and this recognition served as one impetus to undertake the present work. MATERIALS AND METHODS A complex revision of data under the name of Cytisus in the herbarium (cf. JÁVORKA 1929) and travel diaries (GOMBOCZ 1945, LÖKÖS 2001) of Pál Kitaibel was carried out. Previously, the typification of Cytisus of all material of the Carpathian Basin held in the herbarium of the Hungarian Natural History Museum (BP) was completed (PIFKÓ lOOSa), followed by the rearrangement of the material on geographical basis. This was helpful, and even conditional, for the revision of the Cytisus data of Pál Kitaibel. Data in his travel diaries for which no specimen was found in his herbarium had to be identified on the basis of a subsequent collection from the same locality. If even this was not possible, the revision was implemented on the basis of the present knowledge on the distribution of the taxon involved. As in the earlier works (PIFKÓ 2004, 2005^, b) the revision of the broadly treated Cytisus reflects the taxonomy that recognises Chamaecytisus, Lembotropis, and Laburnum (genus Corothamnus was mentioned as Genista by Kitaibel) as separate genera. Full list of the taxa in the present treatment: Chamaecytisus albus (Hacq.) Rothm.: Ch. albus and Ch. banaticus (Wierzb. in Griseb. et Schenk) Rothm. (JOSIFOVIC 1972, OPREA 2005), Ch. albus (HOLUB and BERTOVÁ 1988, YAKOVLEV et al. 1996, NIKOLIC 1997). Chamaecytisus austriacus (L.) Link (JOSIFOVIC 1972, HOLUB and BERTOVÁ 1988, YAKOVLEV etal. 1996, NIKOLIC 1997, OPREA 2005, FISCHER al. 2006). Chamaecytisus dorycnioides (Davidov) Frodin et Heywood: Ch. tommasinii (Vis.) Rothm. (JOSIFOVIC 1972). Chamaecytisus elongatus (W. et K.) Link (JOSIFOVIC 1972, NIKOLIC 1997): Ch. glaber (L. f.) Rothm. (YAKOVLEV et al. 1996, OPREA 2005). Chamaecytisus heuffelii (Wierzb. in Griseb. et Schenk) Rothm. (JOSIFOVIC 1972, OPREA 2005).
