Tóth, Sándor: Ascomycetes from the bequest of J. Bánhegyi

In the following enumeration each record starts with the number of the author's research diary. The nomenclature of the species names followed DENNIS (1978) and CANNON et al. (1985). The place names are written in their original form from Bánhegyi' s specimens; these are mostly the Hungarian names which were in use at the date of the collectings. In most cases, finding the recent and correct equivalents of these names is very difficult, or sometimes even impossible. The recent country or region names are indicated in brackets in the case of non-Hungarian place names (with the exception of the obviously very difficult cases). A total of 187 records of 107 species are listed in the enumeration. The specimens are deposited in the Department of Botany of the Hungarian Natural History Museum. Some remarkable specimens deserve special emphasis. The most important might be "Sarcoscypha kecskemetiensis Hollós", because the holotype and other specimens were destroyed, for unknown reason, by László Hollós himself, thus now this is the only authentic material for this taxon, corresponding to the description and collected in the locus classicus. "Helotium sabranskyanum (Bäuml.) Bánh.", and "Humana hemisphaerica (Wigg.) Fr. var. carbonaria Bánh." could also be mentioned. The latter taxon does not differ from other specimens of the species occurring on various substrates, thus the variety level can not be verified by the present author.
