s paper, the most informative flora and vegetation work was published by A. JURKO (1958), who examined region, named "Csallóköz" along the left side of the main Danube. His nomenclature of associations slightly differs from SOÓ's phytosociological system. With the help of principal coordinate analysis program we examined the separation of the sample groups. Result of PRINCOOR program running with Czekanowski's index is shown in Fig. 2. According to our observations and on the bases of Fig. 2 the sample groups of the examined area differ only at the subassociation level. The most humid subassociation "asperuletosum" lives in the "Derék-erdő". The sample plots of "Feketeerdő" are a little bit drier than the previous group. The "Ásványráró" sample group means a "hederetosum" subassociation. The "Lóvári erdő" sample group has a transitional status between the Fraxino pannonicae-Ulmetum and the Salicetum albae-fragilis (bankside gallery forest). Diagrams of the TWR categories (Fig. 5) (T - temperature requirements, W - water requirements, R - soil requirements) represent a habitat of a moderately moist deciduous forest with faintly alcaline soil (Tmax = 5, W
