The interval between 600 and 750° c may con t a in smaller Montmorillonite and even Chlorite peaks, these, however, could not be evaluated. Thus the small loss of weight which may appear here and can be related to the Phillosilicates, should be calculated as part of the carbonate content. From the above it follows that the weight per cent values calculated with the help of derivatograms, are only approximative values obtained from an average sample. The derivato­grams of the fraction below 0.063 mm made the evaluation easier in some cases. For particular samples the changes in organic material-, carbonate-mineral and clay-mineral content were dealt with in chapter II. 1. Table 1.
