T = 0.63. Summary We have reason to believe that this forest will be cut down in a short time. After the cutting this hill will change into a bare rock surface because of erosion. It would be better if this forest remained. We found many Quercus seedlings in the herb layer, so the forest is able to be renewed. What Is more, deforestation is unwanted in this strictly protected area. The samples of 'Genisto pilosae-Quercetum' in s.st. (sensu stricto) from different localities in Hungary were simply compared by the presence of species. The samples of Genisto pilosae-Quercetum in Bükk Mts. arranged in a transect were analysed in detail. Acidiferous species of this community - e.g. Vaccinium myrtillus, Avenella flexuosa, Luzula albida, Genista pilosa - were found on acidic soil. Diversity of some Individual species are higher by the size of patches in samples than the diversity of all the species in a quadrate. Though the examined part of Bükk Mts. is not too large, and the time was short, 406 vascular plants were found including 5 floristically new species. Table 1.
