Szujkóné Lacza, Júlia; Sen, Subir: Distribution, diversity and equitability of the Hungarian species of Gentiana and Gentianella ciliata L. (Gentianaceae)

The locality-wise distribution of the four species has been plotted in separate maps (1, 2, 3 and 4). Where a species has been collected for more than once from the same locality, we have shown it only once. With a view to have a correct picture of the gradients of climatic and biotic factors we have included in our study some areas outside the present geographical boundary of Hungary. The data of habitat, altitude and flowering times have been taken from herbarium sheets, while that of annual precipitation of a particular territory has been taken from Pallas Lexikon (1896). Besides studying the dried herbarium specimens we have also visited the different localities to study the phenotypic variation and ecological association of the living plants more accurately.
