The present publication, as one of the important results of the cooperation among the Historical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the Hungarian Committee of National Remembrance (Nemzeti Emlékezet Bizottsága—NEB, Hungary) and the Forum Minority Research Institute (Fórum Kisebbségkutató Intézet—FKI, Slovakia), does not aspire for an exhaustive coverage of the reactions on the 1956 Hungarian Revolution in Slovakia, as this would result in a considerable overlap with the previously released publications. The main objective of this book is to bring the events of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution closer to the Slovak readers too, and, at the same time, to present new areas of research that have yet received less attention. In addition, this book proves that in the 21st century science, international cooperation of scientific institutions will be more important than ever.
