3. The settlement structure of Slovakia
The settlement system of Slovakia 1970s that the settlement structure was subject to the largest intervention, because in this decade the number of settlements fell by 366. According to the figures shown in the table, this change was probably the result of people moving from small to large settlements, because the number of towns with more than 10,000 inhabitants rose by 20.
