Szabó Miklós (1907-1982) kéziratos hagyatékának egyháztörténeti vonatkozásai SUMMARY Church Historical Aspects of Miklós Szabó’s (1907-1982) Manuscripts The great historical turns of the 20th century fundamentally determined the career of Miklós Szabó, born in the Szilágyság region of Transylvania. The rich heritage of his manuscripts (poems, local historical works, management records) are the documents of local and personal history, which delineate the religious determinations of the diverse achievements of the person examined. He recognized his talents for writing poetry (non-separable from the legacy of the Reformation) and his intentions to write local history as a God-given task. In interpreting the events of his life, a man believing in God, and searching for God’s will in the light of Scripture is presented to us. A group of his historical and religious poems exemplifies the close relationship between national and religious identity, the roots of which can be recognized in the uniquely Hungarian understanding of existence of the Reformation and the subsequent period of struggle. The manuscripts of Miklós Szabó confirm how the Protestant-rooted view of history functions and revives in life-changing situations. 2016-3 Sárospataki Füzetek 20. évfolyam 59
