A Babiloni Talmud képen is jól kivehető, érthető, ismerős szavai (Baba Bathra 14b) az ószövetségi könyvek sorrendjét úgy állapítják meg, hogy Ezékiel után teszik Ézsaiást azzal a magyarázattal, hogy Jeremiás mindvégig pusztulásról beszél, Ezékiel is pusztulással kezdi, de vigasztalással végződik, Ézsaiás pedig tele van vigasztalással. Vagyis pusztulás kerül pusztulás, vigasztalás vigasztalás mellé:21
