Füsti-Molnár Szilveszter Abstract ‘Eritis sicut Deus’ Insights into Calvin’s theology regarding the context of Christian spirituality The aim of this study is to highlight Reformed spirituality’s major element which is connected to one of the basic elements of Christian anthropology, namely imago Dei. I do not intend to introduce this coherence by the classical systematic theological issues, but by connecting it to eritis sicut Deus, the cause of original sin. The doctrine of the study is ‘you will be like God ...’ (Gen 3, 5). Both before and after the fall, it was and still is the unavoidable essence in the relationship of God and man. Consequently, it establishes the main track of Reformed spirituality. In the course of laying bare the connections mentioned above, I will use Calvins theology, primarily his Institutio as a support. Our purpose is to show some of the main elements of Calvins understanding of the doctrine of creation and redemption in the above mentioned theoretical frame in relation to koinonia as participation en Christo. 38 Sárospataki Füzetek 18. évfolyam I 2014 I 4
