Házassági felkészítés családi életciklusok tükrében Abstract Marriage preparation in View of Family Life Cycles The study itself is part of a larger work written for ministers. Its purpose was to provide an effective theoretical and practical help, a kind of manual, for ministers working in marriage preparation. The present study emphasizes the importance of learning multidisciplinary thinking and attitude. The function and content of marriage preparation, the biblical aspects of marriage and the Reformed theological understanding of marriage is discussed. After that, we get a short historical outlook on the development of family assistance, and the family life cycle concept. Later we learn about family life cycles in detail in a way that tasks and psychological phenomena as well as the potential break downs found in the cycles are in focus. Finally, some practical help and tools are given to resolve and manage the normative crises of the respective life cycles, placing all this sometimes in a religious context. At the end of the study, statistical data can be found about the number of marriages and divorces, and some charts help us follow the Hungarian tendencies between 1991 and 2011.
