Zergi Gábor Finnországban maradt énekeskönyvének nyomában tond főgondnok, illetve az ő halála (2008) után felesége, Böőr Irén szerkesztett, Zergi Gáborról (1921-2002) szintén van egy rövid életrajz.15 (S ehhez ld. még Szat- mári-Karmanoczki i. h. Zergi Gábor Helsinkiben megtalált református énekeskönyve, láthattuk, sokfelé elvezetett. (Ilyen szempontból is meglehet a könyveknek a maguk sorsa.) Abstract In the Footsteps of Gábor Zergi’s Psalter Hymnal Left in Finland The article, first of all, gives an account of a more than six-month-long trip in Finland in 1948 of a young assistant minister, Gábor Zergi from Debrecen. Zergi then was introduced to the Finnish church life, and a particular form and the events of the revival movement (körttiläiset). Gábor Zergi (1921-2002) later came to live in northern Hungary: first a minister in Mád, and in the course of time, the senior minister of the Zemplén subdistrict, and the honorary professor of the Sárospatak Reformed Theological Academy. Later in 1973, he could only go to Finland for a month. Ferenc A. Molnár, Hungarian and Finno-Ugric linguist, studied in Finland in 1996. He found a Hungarian Reformed (Calvinist) Psalter hymnal in the Finno- Ugric Institute Library of Helsinki University, which had the name Gábor Zergi, a student of theology with the date 1943 written in it. Molnár had the inscription xeroxed, and later sent to it Gábor Zergi. A good personal relationship developed between them. Zergi wrote two letters to A. Molnár. He gave an account of his trip to Finland, of his experiences and impressions there. As these are of interest for the Finnish church life and the Finnish- Hungarian relations of that time, Ferenc A. Molnár in this article - with the prior consent and even encouragement of Gábor Zergi - reproduces them, and comments mainly on the Finnish-Hungarian church relations. The second part of the article contains excerpts from memoirs that conjure up the excellent service of the young assistant minister, Gábor Zergi in the Debrecen Mester Street Church. 15 Csikós Éva: Mester utcai atyafiak.
