Abstract

Worship Service according to Calvin’s Liturgy

The first part of the study records a worship service conducted according to Calvin’s liturgy in a 21st century setting. The sermon as part of the service portrayed Calvin as a cross-bearer. The second part of the study presents Calvin’s 1542 formula along with its 1545 extended version: elements of a usual Sunday worship service of the Strasbourg church, formulas of baptism, the Lord’s Supper, wedding and funeral services.
