Abstract

Public Characters’ Recollections of The Student Life in Patak between 1920 and 1940

This study presents new dimensions in the historic research of the “Sárospatak School” by arguing that relevant images of the ideological and sociological elements of the “Patak Genius” can be gained principally from the recollections of former Sárospatak students. This contribution calls forth the memoires and other writings of some public characters who found it important afterwards, from the point of view of their personal development and career, to record their recollections of their lives spent in Patak as students in the 1920s, ‘30s and ‘40s.
