On Saturday, November 19 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM there will be a Hungarian Christmas Bazaar in conjunction with the annual Arts and Crafts Fair in the Beneva Christian Church (4835 Beneva Road, Sarasota). Donations of Hungarian folk art items in good condition will be gratefully accepted until November 7. Please call Erika Thiringer (941-923-1444). Mandolin Magic Video. The edited version of our highly successful mandolin concert is for sale at the price of $10.00 plus postage, if applicable. The program is 72 minutes long. Joe Vegliante Productions created the disc for educational television NHTV in New Haven, Connecticut. Please place your orders as soon as possible and make your checks payable to the Kossuth Club for Christmas delivery. November Program. There will be a recital of songs on Thursday, November 19 at 4:30 PM in the Selby Library (1331 First Street, Sarasota). The program presents Timothy Gémesi, a voice student and junior in the Booker High School of the Arts. His idol is the legendary Mihály Székely, a star of the Hungarian State Opera in the 1950’s. Genevieve Beauchamp provides piano accompaniment. Our special guests are Mr. Péter Balogh and Dr. Elizabeth Jung from St. Louis Missouri who donated generously to our scholarship fund and will briefly inform us of their trip to Hungary and neighboring states to visit Hungarian minority schools. Preview of Events in January 2010. On Sunday, January 17 at 7:00 PM in the Church of the Redeemer organist Bálint Karosi performs in conjunction with the American Guild of Organists Region IV Mid-Winter Conference. A graduate of the Franz Liszt Academy and Oberlin College, he is currently Minister of Music for First Lutheran Church of Boston. Advance tickets are available for $12.00 directly from the Church of the Redeemer (222 South Palm Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34236). On-site tickets are $20.00.—On Friday, January 22 the Kossuth Club luncheon will be at the Prestancia Golf and Country Club. The program features songs by MASI.
