The Kossuth Club participated in the second annual Community Fair on January 11 at the Gulf Gate Library. We exhibited examples of Hungarian folk art (embroidery and ceramic ware) and distributed informational brochures about Hungary and the programs of the Club. Visit to Bakonwilla. Erika Borsos pays tribute to her birthplace in Hungary through pictures received by her family since 1956, as well as pictures taken by herself during her visits to Hungary. The Literacy Council offers free English lessons, opportunity for conversation, day, evening, or weekend schedules, small classes, or a personal tutor— all free of charge in Sarasota. Students must be between 16 and 85 years old and live permanently in the United States. On Wednesday February 26 at 5:30 PM in the Selby Library (1331 First Street, Sarasota) Csaba Téglás reviews his book: “Budapest Exit: a Memoir of Fascism, Communism, and Freedom. ” This highly acclaimed book was published by Texas A&M University Press in 1998. According to one of the reviewers, this book “belongs on the bookshelf of every American Hungarian family. ” In Memóriám. It is with deep sorrow that we inform you that Bálint Vázsonyi, pianist, historian and author, Dohnányi’s last pupil, passed away in Washington after a long illness. He was 66 years old.
