Regulation 1. Let every one of the members of the Holy Association give one and a hah gold coins (=Hunganan crowns - korona) from year to year, and pay in this money twice a year (in two instalments), i.e. 75 pennies (krajcár) on the 7th of Adar and 75 on the eve of Yom Kippur. 2. Every member of the Holy Association must be active, let them not be ignorant, and let them be familiar with all the religious laws and customs which are necessary in this question, the matter of the exercise of charity, so that, God forbid, they do not stumble. 3. If, God forbid, the voice of a sick man is heard in the settlement, he must be visited by them day by day, because blessed is he who helps the poor, this sick man, with all the things he needs. And if this man, God forbid, is close to death, and must be attended (constantly), then let the elder (treasurer) assign two men by lot, and the (duty of) attendance should then constantly return to every member of the Holy Association, one after the other. And should the lot fall on someone who is not at home, then the elder may call upon another instead of him, and he will (be obliged to) pay this immediately, without reserve or dispute. 4. If someone, God forbid, should be in great danger, the sick man cannot be left alone, even during the day. 5. And in the hour the spirit departs (may it not be one of us) it is the religious duty (= mitzvah) that there be ten to read with him, as has been printed in the (funeral prayer) book "Crossing the Yabbok". 6. Should, God forbid, a child younger than one year old die, then let the elder send one of the members of the Holy Association, chosen by lot, to exercise charity, and to carry out all that is to be done for the funeral, as is fitting and customary. From one year old up till six years old, two should go to take care of matters. Upwards from six years old, the law is such as for an adult, in every respect and according to all needs. 7. Lots should also be cast for the interment, that four should go to dig the grave, and no-one can excuse himself from this on any pretext, and in particularly cannot refuse, as the religious duty is his alone. Even so, if he is not at home, or he is so seriously ill that this is known to the elder, another (man) can take his place, but he must pay him from his own pocket. 8. (Should someone) die in the settlement (may it not be one of us), every member of the Holy Association is obliged to hurry to exercise charity towards him, and provide him will all things necessary until he has been buried, and in particular (take heed that) no-one depart from the settlement until after the funeral, other than with the elder's permission, as this is an urgent duty. 9. During preparation of the coffin and in the hour of interment, let them conduct themselves with respect and the fear of God, and take heed to do nothing in a sneering manner, and let there be nothing shameful among them, and let them not speak, God forbid, mockingly and thoughtlessly, and may they not tread on the tools during digging, and let no man sit on the (coffin) boards, and in particular let him not kneel down whilst sawing. Let the elder stand (there) whilst the coffin is prepared and in the hour of bathing, so that they do not forget, God forbid, any small detail. 10. The price of the plot in the case of a miscarriage is 40 pence, from 30 days to the age of 13 years 60 pence, from 13 upwards, either boy or girl, 1 gold coin (crown), besides the cost of the coffin and shroud. And should, God forbid, the master of a house (family head) have died, who is one of the members of the Holy Association, though (he was) a resident of the town, the price of the plot is 1 gold coin just the same, and before the funeral the cost of the plot should be given to the elder (treasurer). If, however, he was outside the Holy Association, then let the price of the plot be according to his means, as imposed on him by the majority of the members of the Holy Association. 11. Let the escort (funeral service) of the deceased be (performed) (in the presence of) at least ten adults (men). 12. Let the first meal of the bereaved (following the funeral) be (prepared and served) by the members of the Holy Association.
