Bevezetés Dicsértessék az Isten, legyen felmagasztalva dicsőségének ékessége, aki bölcsességgel teremtette valamennyi teremtmény fölé az embert, és kiválasztotta őt mindenből, ami a föld színén (található). S adott neki (értő) szívet, hogy tudása legyen, s (hogy) jót tegyenek egymással, ahogyan azt áldott emlékű, tisztelt bölcseink kezdeményezték a szeretet gyakorlásának magaslatában, amely zászlaja és oszlopa a világ alappilléreinek, ami megment az emberi haláltól, különösen a halál kínjaitól váltja meg őket. Mindaz, aki elkülönül és felhagy (az egyesület támogatásával), bizony megszégyenül, hiszen az egyenes és tiszta (lelkű) férfi jámborsága szerint jár el, míg az ember nem kerül adósságba. Ezért az a gondolat merült fel bennük, hogy megegyezzenek, szent társaságban egyesüljenek mindazok, akik (itt) név szerint meg vannak nevezve, hogy egymással összefogva segítsenek és emlékeztessenek. Törekedjünk az isteni jutalomra, amelyet szem még nem látott, hiszen a jótett nagyobb, mint a jótevő, ám mindketten egyaránt jók (arra), hogy megmeneküljenek az idő vasfoga alól, (ezért) vizsgáljuk meg életutunkat, és kutassuk át, hogy mindenki nagyobb odaadással és teljes szeretettel szolgálja testvérét, mind fizikailag, mind anyagilag, nagy szeretettel és nagy könyörülettel. Hiszen ez az ember (vallási) törvénye, hogy végül is jót tegyen, a jó cselekedet minden fajtájában az igyekvők közé kerüljön, ezáltal is elégedettséget váltson ki a Jóistenből. Ne engedd el kezünket, ajánld testvéreid figyelmébe egyesületünket, hogy megfelelő, fontos szabályokat hozzunk létre helyes írással, igaz szavakat jegyezve a nálunk levő különleges jegyzőkönyvbe. Egyetértésben (készült) ez (a jegyzőkönyv), ne szűnjék meg soha, nekünk és utódainknak, mostantól kezdve szemünk várakozik és vágyakozik a Seregek Istenére, hogy mutassa fel nekünk a (próféták által) megjövendölt csodákat és vigasztalásokat, mutasson nekünk csodajelet a jóra, ámen, így legyen Isten akarata. introduction May God be praised, and may the honour of his glory be exalted, who with wisdom has created man above all his creatures, and chosen him from among all that is (found) on the surface of the earth. And has given him an (understanding) heart, that he may have knowledge, and (that) they should do good to one other as was initiated by our honoured sages of blessed memory in the heights of the exercise of charity, which is the banner and pillar of the keystone of the world, which saves man from death, and in particular redeems them from the pains of death. All those who separate themselves and desist (from supporting the association) are they not ashamed, as the man who is upright and pure (in spirit) walks according to his piety, as long as he does not get into debt. The thought, therefore, came to them that they should agree and join together in a holy association, all those who are named (here) by name, that united they should help and prompt one other. Let us be active for the divine reward, which eye has not yet seen, as charity is greater than the benefactor, though both are equally beneficial to provide escape from the iron teeth of time, so let us examine our way of life, and explore it, so that everyone can serve his brother with greater commitment and complete charity, both physically and materially, with great love and great mercy. After all, it is the (religious) law of man, that he should do good in the end, that he should be found among the zealous in all manner of good deeds, so that also by this he prove satisfactory to God. Do not release our hands, reassure your brothers of our association, so that we may establish appropriate, important rules with correct script, recording true words in the special register we have made. And (produced) in agreement, may this (register) never cease, for us and our descendants, and from now on our eyes await and long for the God of Hosts, that he may set forth for us the wonders and comforts foretold (by the prophets), and exercise with us a miraculous sign for good, amen, may this be the will of God.
