216 70. Buda, 15 November 1796 Information on the sovereign's order that the ve­terinary department should employ only such senior lecturer who speaks Hungarian as well as Latin. 71. Buda, 13 Oecember 1796 The Council of Governor-General asks for the list of the instruments and equipments necessary for performing the scientific experiments at the de­partment and promises to cover the expenses. 72. Buda, 3 May 1797 On the University Council's report the Council of Governor-General grants an emergency allowance of 89 Ft for the experiments of the veterinary de­partment and for purchasing the necessary instru­ments . 73. Buda, 18 July 1797 Reply of the Council of Governor-General for both the reformative plans suggested by Joseph Jacob Winter, Professor of Chemistry and Botany, and the proposal of the uni 'ersity faculties on estab­lishing a scientific journal. The Council doesn't oppose the above notions in principle, but can't support them financially, for the time being. 74.
