of the national committees of Transdanubia went to Győr on that day. They got the invitation from Radio Győr. There were 5 delegates from our town and the county under the leadership of Pál Apai, who was the President of the County National Committee's Executive Committee. Questions of defence came up as there was a meeting of the Military Revolutionary Council and the Military Revolutionary Council of the corps headquarters. In the meeting they made the commander resign. The forming of political organization also began. First Smallholders' Party leaders called their former members to join the party and help them to speed up the setting up of national committees in villages and territories. On 31st several imprisoned from Székesfehérvár arrived from Vác Penitentiary. (They were liberated by a Hungarian army unit on 27th.) New revolutionary organs were also set up at the Signal Battalion, in the garrison and in other military arms and services. The Minister of Defence appointed Béla Kemendi as the Commander of the Army Corps in Székesfehér­vár. There was a political crisis in the town National Committee as two social democrats renewed their personnel debate which started before the Second World War. General Kemendi became the leader of the new organization namely the Revolutionary Military Council of Transdabubia. At the same time they made steps towards defense of the town. The National Guard was given modern personnel weapons and began to build the antitank defense system around the town: they studied how the soviet forces were concentrating in certain towns and industrial objects. On that day a temporary Revolutionary Council of Intellectuals was formed in the town, however it could not do anything concrete. The county and the town National Committees held a joint meeting where a delegate from Sárbogárd managed to get Pál Apai replaced. They changed the decision of the replacement to his resignation later. On 1st November there was a celebration at Heros Monument and a wooden cross was set up in memory of the victims of the revolution. That was the first time after a long period when people could remember to the heroes in the military cemetery. On this day the town organization of Social Democratic Party officially began its activity together with the revolutionary Council of Teachers Students and Journalists. The newly formed parties divided the property of the Hungarian Workers' Party among themselves. On 2nd November soviet authorities (according to the planned intervention) began to move out their families. Then the town organized the students military company and placed them in the hostel of József Attila Grammar School. (They were armed on 3rd November.)
