november hó 16.-án Sir Robert Gower - tői a következő levelet kapta:

"My dear Rector ,

It is so good of you and the Senatus on behalf of your University to write to me expressing their sincere st feelings of sympathy with me in the terrible bereavement which has fallen upon me by the death of my dear Wife.

I do indeed appreciate your kindness very much indeed as also do my daughters. I can assure you that the knowledge that the thougts and prayers of so many kind friends are extended to and for us is of greater consolation and solace to us in our trouble than we can find words sufficiently able to express.

Believe me, Yours very sincerely
