került volna гг a gyár, visszajött volna, csak a befolyt adókból. A Carlsberg régi gyárépülete, 2000-es évek The old Carlsberg factory building, 2000s A Tuborg gyár épülete, 2000-es évek The Tuborg factory building, 2000s we began to work on the project in earnest. For two years we only planned. Then we built the reception stations, a three-kilometre long canalisation pipe that would have drained the brewery's water into the town's cleaning and purifying systems. The gas reception terminal was completed, the electricity station was completed - in other words the relevant part of the infrastructural groundwork was completed. The technological plans were also done. 1 n the meanwhile, another major responsibility entrusted to me was to make sure that the brewery would be built on the basis of state of the art technology, and to this end I travelled a lot across Europe. 1 saw cutting-edge technology, I had to get in touch with major producers to learn about modern technology. 1 visited Heineken, and I also went to see the Tuborg and Carlsberg companies. So I informed myself in several places. And indeed, we did manage to make a great plan that would have allowed for building a model brewery in Central and Eastern Europe that was up to western standards. The first oil crisis hit just when the plans were completed in 1975. Then Comrade lenő Fock (1916-2001) - he was the president of the Council of Ministers at the time - said that we would not be building a brewery now, the money was needed elsewhere. The decision was taken despite the fact that the 3 billion forints that it would have taken to build the brewery could have been easily recouped from the tax revenue collected. The executive director told me to relax and hang on, he wouldn't give up and we would continue this. Take the plans, he said, keep in touch with the planners, and within a year or two it will be picked up again. Unfortunately, he was wrong. 1 used the reduced work pressure at the time to pursue a second diploma, and I earned a degree as an economics engineer." 178
