Szlfonualack. SLOSS MÓZES AARON KERESKEDŐ NEW-YORKBAN. sometimes. Besides advertisements, patent specifications illustrated with artful figures serve as resources in this respect, a non-exhaustive collection of which can be seen here. We took examples from the Hungarian patents first of all, and helped our readers avoid reading old-styled technical descriptions. However, there is one exception, because here we show you D. Fèvre's soda water manufacturing machine, had been used since as early as 1885 replacing the above mentioned John Mervin Nooth's equipment. At the same time it was the early predecessor of the siphon that was operated with sparklets in the homes. Actually, it is a small soda factory, where carbon-dioxide is produced by mixing tartaric acid and sodium bicarbonate, and when it is added to the water in the lower globe, it yields several kinds of beverages. The advert also tells us that it was prescribed by the doctors and could be had in 3-litre bottles as well. As we can see mostly bottles and siphons were patented, together or separately, and among the outstanding figures of the creative era we can find both women and university students. The essence of the matter did not much change, but the new materials (porcelain, plastic) demanded new solutions. As it often occurs in the case of patents, not every dream came true but still remained beautiful, and the genuity of their creators has not in the least been shadowed.
