Summary/ In 1958 dr Fereno Hont Kossuth-prize laureate, candidate in arta, director of the Hungarian Institute of Theatrical Sciences tcok part in a conference organized by the Soviet Acaflemy of Scienoes in Moscow. There hia suggestion to organize an East-European Comittee for Theatrical Scienoes was unanimously accepted by the delegates of the Soviet Union and of the socialist countries. It was decided that the centre of the Comittee would be in Budapest /Hungary/, and the Hungarian Institute for Theatrical Sciences was invited to do the organising. Beside these administrative preparations of the Institute, different scientific surveys, research and systematizing activitiee were also started.
