Be always confident! I treated only some of the countless dramatic conflicts of the Tragedy, and not always with the thoroughness which would have been obligatory for full treatment. My only aim was to show that there are no two scenes which end with Adam being in the same state of mind, that the intensity of his actions is always determined by the ideal he has set for himself, and that the main task of directors is to show this on the stage and to let the dramatic qualities of the Tragedy unfold in the production.
