TIPOGRAFII, EDITURI, COMERCIANŢI DE CĂRŢI, ZIARE, PERIODICE ŞI JURNALE LOCALE ÎN SECUIME (1867-1918)

Rezumat

Studiul prezent oferă o imagine schematică asupra bibliografiei şi istoricul presei din Secuime, din perioada dualismului. Pe de o parte, urmăreşte dezvoltarea tipografiei, publicării şi comerţului de carte între anii 1867-1918. Studiul prezintă 67 de tipografii, precum un total de 641 de publicaţii în limba maghiară ale acestora, din 14 localităţi cu tipografie, de pe teritoriul celor patru scaune, astfel, completând recenta literatură de specialitate citată. Pe de altă parte, ziarele, periodicele şi jurnalele

locale publicate pe teritoriul Secuimii, în perioada respectivă, sunt caracterizate prin varietate atât în privinţa conţinutului, cât şi în privinţa numărului de apariţie. In 1914, de exemplu, în 8 localităţi au fost publicate 32 de periodice oficiale şi alte jurnale. Această perioadă poate fi apreciată ca prima mare epocă de aur a tipografiei şi a presei pe teritoriul Secuimii deopotrivă, în care dezvoltarea technică şi intelectuală a jucat un rol significant.

PRINTING HOUSES, PUBLISHERS, BOOKSELLERS, NEWSPAPERS, JOURNALS AND LOCAL PAPERS IN SZEKLERLAND

(1867-1918)

Abstract

The present study provides a schematic picture of the bibliography and press history in Szeklerland, during the Age of Austro-Hungarian Dualism. On the one hand, it traces the progress of printing, book publishing and book trade between 1867-1918. On the territory of the four researched counties, 67 printing houses and their 641 Hungarian publications could be overviewed, in the case of 14 settlements. These publications constitute a supplement to the cited specialized literature of the recent past. On the

other hand, the newspapers, journals and local papers published on the territory of Szeklerland, during that period, show a complex and manifold picture considering their content and circulation. In 1914, for example, 32 professional journals and other papers were published in 8 towns. That period might be well called the first great age of printing and printed press in Szeklerland too, an age in which intellectual and technical development played a significant part.
