DOCUMENTE PRIVIND ISTORICUL CONSTRUIRII PRETORIULUI DE LA ŞUMULEU CIUC (CSÍKSOMLYÓ), 1825-1845 Rezumat Lucrarea de faţă îşi propune să reconstituie istoricul ridicării primului sediu permanent al instituţiilor scăunale din Ciuc, valorificând materialul documentar referitor la subiect, păstrată în Arhivele harghitene. La Şumuleu, într-o primă fază, au fost ridicate câteva clădiri provizorii din lemn, iar mai târziu fusese construit în două etape edificiul de piatră, care există şi astăzi. Lucrările au durat aproape două decenii, iar în realizarea acestora, pe lângă trezoreria de stat, au avut un rol hotărâtor şi comunităţile locale, acestea contribuind fie cu materiale de construcţie, fie cu bani, fie cu forţă de muncă. Pretoriul de la Şumuleu este un rezultat al colaborării comunitare, şi păstrează până astăzi aminitirea celui fără de care acesta nu s-ar fi construit: judele suprem regal al Scaunului Ciuc de la mijlocul secolului, József Balási de Impér. SOURCES CONNECTED TO THE BUILDING OF THE HALL OF CIUC (CSÍK) SEAT IN ŞUMULEU CIUC (CSÍKSOMLYÓ), 1825-1845 Abstract The present study intends to reconstruct the history of construction of the first permanent hall of Ciuc Seat using documents kept in the National Archives of Harghita County. First, a few provisional wooden premises were built in Şumuleu Ciuc. These were followed by the lifting of a stone building, which stands today as well, in two phases. The construction lasted two decades. Besides the State Treasury, the local communities played a decisive role in its building process, by contributing with building material, money or work-force. The Hall of the Seat is a result of communal cooperation and it still preserves the memory of the man without whose implication the building of the hall would not had been possible: the supreme royal judge of Ciuc County at the middle of the century, József Balási from Imper. In the annexes, that follow the introductory study we can find 13 relevant, yet unedited documents concerning the topic. 129
