Rezumat

In cursul cercetării obiceiurilor legate de marile momente ale vieţii - naşterea, căsătoria, moartea, sexualitatea - au ieşit la iveală un vocabular cu totul specific şi o mulţime de unităţi frazeologice, un enorm bagaj lexical, care m-au ajutat în interpretarea, înţelegerea obiceiurilor, riturilor şi simbolurilor, puse în funcţiune în cadrul momentelor vieţii. M-a copleşit marea bogăţie a metaforelor, care s-au dovedit a fi instrumente ale unei comunicări tăinuite, totodată, o oglindă a capacităţii de abstractizare a purtătorilor de folclor, talentului lor de a manipula limba. Lucrarea evidenţiază factorii coercitivi, care au contribuit la modelarea acestui limbaj neobişnuit: sexualitatea, ca tabu, ruşinea şi teama, care alcătuiesc fundalul acestui sentiment, apoi măsurile severe ale papalităţii, privind spovedania, începând din secolul al 18-lea. Tipologizarea acestui limbaj a devenit pentru mine o pasiune de cercetare.

THE VOCABULARY OF SEXUAL CULTURE AND SEXUAL MORALITY IN SÂNDOMINIC (CSÍKSZENTDOMOKOS)

Abstract

Studying the customs related to man’s main events in life - birth, wedding, death and sexuality - revealed not only the rites themselves, but also some phraseological elements and a particular vocabulary that helped me to understand and analyse the customs, rites, symbols and communication in general. Most of this vocabulary consists of metaphors which seemed to serve as a tool for hiding and covering taboo words and at the same time they also prove the linguistic ingenuity and abstracting capability of a folklore-preserving community.

The study concerns the compelling factors that lead to the emergence of such a specific language: sexual taboos, the psychological background of shame and fear, the pope’s decree to tighten the regulations of confession in the 18th century, etc. Typologizing this language has become a compulsion for me as a researcher.
