We should bear in mind that physical education was still a "subsidiary" field of education and its "equal­ization" has not been done yet. This is supplemented by the dilemma existing among the pedagogical specialists, culture- and educational politicians of this field: what method to follow in favour of effec­tive, persuasion of each age group (maintaining health, better work ability, balanced state of mind) to do physical activity voluntarily, or make it compulsory in an administrative way. The dilemma of our day is to choose between giving mark or a description in some school subjects. It refers to the subjects requiring special skills (singing, drawing, PE). The debate is accompanied by the dividing of the teachers, in which - taking into consideration the Hungarian traditions -, the followers of the former one are in majority.
