Introduction

Every lecture discussed its theme in detail and exhaustively. Dr. Viktor Dank, geologist and university professor, chairman of the symposium - who continued the researches began by MAORT on the whole area of the country - carried out his task magnificently. The book including the lectures is the first volume of the MOIM publications that contains industry-historical, professional lectures in Hungarian and English. This is justified by the content and the expected international interest. Thanks for the lecturers of the conference, the authors of the book and for the editor, Valentin Cseh. The magnificent English text praises Lajos Illich's conscientious work. The photos of the conferenc are András Szép's outstanding snapshots.
