the few existing were not representative but rather following the architectural taste of the period. The newest time of Hungarian movie history is reflecting the contradictions of the 90's. Serving the taste of the public or rather dictating it the multiplex movies emerged forming a new public. The change was followed by the destruction of the movie-temples of the 30's which were all closed and becoming new function. The rich material of the exhibition organised by the Ernst Museum, the Museum of Architecture, the National Film Archive, the Movie History Collection of Budapest Film and the Másképp Foundation showed to the visitors different aspects of the movie's meaning - the history of Hungarian film and the type of movie buildings in the architecture. Posters were also displayed and the exhibition had a catalogue as well investigating movie buildings from the point of architecture and town-planning, stressing their importance in the 20 th century cultural history of Budapest. The leaflet „Budapest movie tale" revived the atmosphere of earlier movies.
