Tóth Sándor: A Bakony természettudományi kutatásának eredményei 29. - A Bakonyvidék és a Balaton-medence szitakötő-faunája (Insecta, Odonata) (Zirc, 2005)

The dragonly fauna of the Bakony region and the Balaton Basin - (Insecta: Odonata)

of 10,000 HUE falling under the Bern Agreement. One of the points of interest of the fauna is Cordulegaster bidentatus - also strictly protected and also representing an ideal value of 10,000 HUE The author finds it important to examine the distribution of dragonflies, therefore, he prepared a UTM-map - broken down to 2.5x2.5 km squares - containing the localities of occurrences of each species. Based on them we may obtain a good picture about the distribution of the species, too. The maps also have an important role in determining the relative frequency of the species, in habitat-qualification, etc. A separate chapter contains the classification of some - more thoroughly researched - wetland habitats concerning dragonflies. The author also examined - particularly in the course of his recent research - what kind of waters the larvae of certain species develop in. The analysis of the data in the pertaining table shows that small ponds, marshy natural and artificial still waters and rivulets possess the richest dragonfly fauna. The bulkiest part of the work is the list of species containing the data of the localities of occurrences. A short description of the species refers to their distribution in Hungary, the Bakony region and the Balaton Basin - always figured in the UTM-map. This is followed by a short description of the life history of some species and a phenological column graph based on the data. Finally, there is an itemised account of the collection data, which contains the imagoes, larvae and exuvia in separate chapters - following the usual practice in faunistical articles related to dragonflies. The list of References closes the work. A kézirat lezárva: 2005. október 15-én A szerző címe (Author's address): Dr. TÓTH Sándor H-8420 Zirc, Széchenyi u. 2. E-mail: flycatcher@vnet.hu
