commissary during the fight for liberty of 1848^49, and later on he was appointed national commissary to the Southern Territory. In the April of 1849 Kossuth asked him to be the Minister of the Exterior in the Szemére government. In 1851, in his abscence the count was sentenced to death and he died in Paris at a young age. His estate in Somodor was sequestrated, too. The full inventory made on this occasion has a great source value, just like the inventory, made for the same purpose, of the Ikervár estate of Batthyány Lajos, because the information drawn from this cannot be obtained from any other sources. The movables and real estates, the articles of personal use, work tools, livestock and crops found on the estate of Batthyány Kázmér sequestrated in March 1849 were taken stock of. Besides all this, they put down their then market prices, too. Márfi Attila: From the common theatrical past of Kaposvár and Pécs During the age of dualism culture and the development of the theater took a new course in Hungary. By that time Pécs had prided itself on having theatrical traditions of long centuries, while in Kaposvár the culture of theater could only come into blossom now. This synthesis presents the necessary links, inderdependence and sometimes rivalry of the two county seats which occurred during the nearly eight decades of changing theatrical connections. In Kaposvár it was then that theater performances became a regular occurrence and the stone theater was erected at that time too. The sometimes different artistic conceptions, the system of common theater districts and the various regional influences altogether resulted in the development of a set of values. This study shows the major stages, the decisive characters, the characteristic productions of the repertoir and the significant structural changes of this development, not in the least striving to be complete. Szántó László: Parliamentary elections in Somogy during the development of dualism, 1867-1875 In Hungary multi-party parliamentary elections were first held during the development of dualism. The author of this present study set out to process the history of the elections in Somogy till World War Two by dint of research of long years. As the first result of this work, this study shows and analizes the county history of the three parliamentary elections till the appointment of Tisza Kálmán as prime minister, mainly based on the local archives sources and the press. The events, characteristics and the features of the political struggle between the parties of the first election in Somogy tallied in most aspects with the requirements of early parliamentarism, although they bore all the retrograde qualities that were typical of the political relations in Hungary. Another fundamental feature of the parliamentary elections can be seen through the fact that the governmental political powers were exclusively represented by the local prominent personalities of the big and middle landed ruling class, while the local opposition was mostly represented by the personalities playing a role in the political and public life of the capital.
