Résumé Beöthy György.- In his study called „New aspects to the 10th century history of Somogy" he calls our attention to the fact that in the history of Somogy in the 10th century there are a great many hazy, disputable questions, since at the settlements bearing the names of Juta and Fajsz is no archeological material to be excavated. Therefore this period can mostly be followed by using historical relations and a wider scope of place-name topography. In the study we can follow the relationship between Bulcsú and Lehel, and the role of the Bő clan in the 10th 11th centuries. We come to know some interesting information about Lehel 's horn too. The author's research, in several respects, breaks new ground as he makes good use of the recent achievements of linguistics, archeology and history 7 too. Borsa István.- We put out the third excerpt of his source-publication called „The archives of the Mérey family, 1265-1526". From the documents of the Mérey family, which are kept in the National Archives, we can get to know the oldest records which, without hardly any exception, refer to the Mére-estate in Somogy county, after which the family received its name, and the estates attached to it. Now we publish 66 extracts of records out of the 180 records at our disposal. The source-publication was mainly justified by the fact that relatively the data of only a few records have been published so far - whether in full text or in excerpts. Szita László: From 1688 there was an extraordinary situation at the Hungarian fronts of the European campaign against the Turks. As in the fall of 1688 the French Kingdom attacked from the rear the allied troops besieging Belgrade successfully and this way forcing the Habsburgs to engage in a war at two fronts, therefore Vienna was compelled to transfer considerable forces to the Western front. So the number of the army fighting in Hungary and winning battles after battles diminished. The fortresses still held by the Turks, such as Székesfehérvár, Szigetvár, Kanizsa, Nagyvárad, Temesvár, Gyula, just to name a few out of the most significant ones, could not be laid seige to seige to in a proper way, which would have taken considerable artillery and imperial forces away from the main army. Therefore these fortresses were put under a very strict blocade, and the besieged faced starvation, the complete destruction of the surrounding area. The besieging troops applied the horrible tactics of the burnt land, thus trying to make these fortresses surrender without a larger loss of lives. Our source-publication shows the struggle around such a fortress by means of primary sources. The sources can be found in the regional archives of Karlsruhe, in the military and state archives of Munich and in the military and state archives of Vienna. The war reports come from the contemporary press, which was found in the material in German stored in the microfilm room of the University of Brehmen. Nagy Pál: The seals of the country towns and villages of Somogy county 1768-1856. (Part 3. Cegléd-Endréd). In the third publication we can read 98 seal descriptions of 23 settlements, which are supplemented with a table of administration;! 1 history and 94 drawings made by the author.
