Szíjártó István: Húszéves a Százak Tanácsa____________________________

The “Council of the Hundred” - a voluntary civil organization - was founded 20 years ago, initiated by the writer Gyula Fekete with the recommendation of the 150 home associations and county societies of the World Association of (All) Hungarians. They nominated 2500 trustworthy people who did not engage in politics but were devoted to the concerns of our Hungarian nation. The first 100, who got the most votes, admitted the name “Council of the Hundred”. There are still thousands worthy, so we the chosen ones do our best to return the trust with unselfish service. 95% of our members voted “yes” to deal with the issue of life in the first place which is followed by issues such as education, culture, healthcare and the Hungarian Land. 19 books have been published, there are more than half a million clicks on our webpage (www.szazaktanacsa.hu), more than 200 meetings were organized and held in Budapest and 100 more at other locations in the Carpathian Basin. We have 60 eternal members (those who have already passed away), they are being replaced by new members. Among others our members are Presidents, Ministers, Secretaries of State (10%), Ecclesiastic high dignitary (10%), firstrate sportsmen and sportswomen (10%), media experts (10%), University professors (25%), artists, scientists, Members of the Academy of Sciences and Arts (25%), physicians, engineers, agricultural experts, leaders of large associations (10%) and steadily invited friends who act as deputy for the absent members. (Half of the members do not live in the capital.) The struggle of the national governments to support families and unite our nation is assisted by us whole-heartedly.
