They tried to answer the question: to what extent did the Hungarian, German and Slovak speaking Lutheran peoples of the Augsburg Confession in the Kárpát Basin contribute to spread the Gospel and to develop our national culture. The permanent exhibition shows the historical relics in three rooms: the Pre-Reformation Period between 1671-1681 in the first room, relics from the time of Thököly's War of Independence till the foundation of the Lutheran parish at Pest (1787) are on display in the second room, and 19th century objects up to the end of World War II can be seen in the third room. The temporary exhibition, entitled Balassi and the Radvánszkys, is in honour of the poet Bálint Balassi and his cult. It can be visited until 17 October 2004.
