visitors to the Museum Post Office at Ôpusztaszer National Historical Memorial Park. They are attracted by postal gift and archive items ranging from quill pens and transparent post-office pencils to hand-made, dipped stationery and 18th-century postal route maps. To satisfy the demands of several hundred thousand visitors, expected with the inauguration of the restored Feszty cyclorama of Hungarian history, we shall need to obtain a colour photocopier, or in order to use such equipment owned by the founder companies, stocks of paper and inks for the museums. The Foundation’s set of museums and exhibition areas can be considered complete with the opening of the Radio and Television Museum and the Diligence Exhibition Room in Debrecen. The time has come to make a 20-minute video film about them, for information and publicity purposes. The script for the film, to be made in Hungarian, English, French and German versions, is being written by the museum staff. It will be useful not only for the museums, but also for the founder companies, to brighten up exhibitions at home and abroad. International relations Apart from our regular obligations connected with membership of the MUT and IATM international museum organizations (membership fees and attendance at general assemblies), an IATM presidential committee meeting (involving 30 people) will take place in Hungary at the end of April. Visits to the Radio and Television Museum at Diosd and the Museum Post Office at Opusztaszer have been included in their programme. In line with tradition, the hosts must provide transport and hospitality for the delegates during their visit. The French Telecommunications Museum at Pleumeur Bodou is suggesting three-day exchange visits with the Radio and Television Museum, each for two people. The travel expenses would be paid by the museum sending the visitors, and three days’ board and lodging by the museum receiving them. The 1996 general assembly of the IATM will take place at Speyer, Germany at the end of September. It would be desirable to allow three delegates to attend from the Foundation, using a car, as a cheaper means of transport. Budapest, November 12, 1995 303
