Kiállítási emlékezések - Kovács Gergelyné: Az alapítvány éves jelentése az IATM közgyűlésre, az 1993–94. évi munkáról
• Museums, art galleries, statue parks • Significant international events of the country, or if none, an introduction to major tourist attractions • Message to the world either spoken, in writing or in pictures, addressed to humanity through Budapest for the next millennium World Post Walk EXPO ’96 Budapest The Hungarian Post Co. management - within the organization of the Postal Museum and linked to the theme of the Budapest Expo ’96 “With Communications for a Better Future” - would like to represent the postal services of the world, which fill a primary role in communications even today. The Hungarian post office, as founder member of UPU and also committed to international cooperation, would like to collect objects and documentary material on the postal services of the world. We wish to establish a World Post Walk - consisting of the post boxes of the member countries of UPU grouped together on stands and which would be ceremonially emptied every day - along the axis of the post office being constructed for the World Expo. The post boxes would be placed into the collection of the Postal Museum in order to preserve the memory of the 1996 Budapest meeting of the postal organizations of the world, and to form a part of the permanent postal history exhibition. We would like to place next to each post box in order to provide information for visitors colour photographs of the flag and coat of arms of each country, and the number of inhabitants and data regarding the postal system from 1990: number of post offices, data of postal letter turnover. The following should be collected on colour photos or on slides for exhibition in the post office which will be built: • The flag and coat of arms of the country • The official badge of the post office management - the building of the post office board of directors • The oldest and most modem post offices in the country (with dates) • Postmen and women in uniform • Postal delivery vehicles • Street telephone booth.
