Mrs Tamás Csegezi and Mrs Béla Tóth: p. 9 Report on the Stamp Museum (1993) I. Acquisitions The Museum, through regular deliveries from the Hungarian Post Office and through the UPU, expanded its worldwide collection by 153,528 Hungarian and foreign postage stamps and 2,684 other items during 1993. The collection also increased through donations and purchases. A total of 16 stamps and 54 other philatelic items were purchased, and 722 stamps and 12 other philatelic items were donated. On October 1, 1993, the Julian G. Clive Foundation for Enriching the Stamp Museum Collection was established, the interest on whose capital, along with other donations, will be available in future for expansion. We would like here to express gratitude to the foundations and donors for their assistance in expanding the collection. II. Exhibitions The Stamp Museum appeared at exhibitions on twelve occasions with 114 sq. m of display material. This included three appearances at international stamp exhibitions and two at events of the Hungarian Association of Stamp Collectors. A temporary exhibition could also be seen at the Stamp Museum itself. Five different thematic exhibitions conveyed through the medium of stamps were shown at six locations. The permanent exhibition in the Stamp Museum’s exhibition hall continued to present a rich collection of Hungarian and world philatelic materials.
