His inaugural address in 1862 at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences was about ques­tions of aerodinamics - for the first time on Earth. His inventions made him a pioneer of aviation. He had discussions by correspondence with Otto Lilienthal. The model of his,/lying wheel” oen be seen in the Kolozsvár Histo­rical Museum, his writings at the Kolozsvár National Arcives are, unfortunately, inacces­sible. Lajos Martin died poor and in privation on 04/03/1897, at Kolozsvár. 71
