His inventions made him a pioneer of aviation. He had discussions by correspondence with Otto Lilienthal. The model of his,/lying wheel” oen be seen in the Kolozsvár Historical Museum, his writings at the Kolozsvár National Arcives are, unfortunately, inaccessible. Lajos Martin died poor and in privation on 04/03/1897, at Kolozsvár.
