Szabolcs Anzelm Szuromi: The rules concerning bishops in the Decretales. Pseudo-Isidorianae, especially the regulation on the death of bishops

148 SZ. A. SZUROMl can be found at the end of the collection basically in one group under title 66: Hec capitula sparsim collecta sunt ct Angilranno Mcdiomatricc urbis episcopo Rome a bento papa Adriano tradita quando pro sui negotii causa inibi agebatur.29 The source of these texts was mainly the Collectio Dionysio-Hadriana, but the compiler also very probably used the Capitula Angilramni,30 The discipline of the conciliar canons is harmonized with the chapters by popes. Surprisingly, the author did not use the traditional early conciliar canons to explain the rules of episcopal election and consecration.31 These early canons were fundamental to ecclesiastical discipline. This probably is the result of the mostly false papal canons. It is known that the Decretales Pseudo-Isidorianac were intended particu29 GILCHRIST, J.T.
