234 GY. BENYIK LAJOS BLAU (1861-1936) directed the Rabbinical Training-College after Vilmos Bacher. He wrote several studies83 and published a version produced by the Israelite Hungarian Literary Society. He also translated some Old Testament passages himself and published them in Budapest (1925). ÁRMIN KECSKEMÉTI (1874-1944?), a rabbi and a member of the presidium in the Rabbinical Training-College. He wrote several books and studies.84 His translation of The Book of Proverbs was published in Budapest (1927). BERNÂT FRENKEL (1881-1961) translated and compiled the Bible for schools. BERTALAN EDELSTEIN (1876- ) was a teacher of Bible and Talmud at the Rabbinical Training-College.85 He also worked on the „Frenkel Bible”. SÁMUEL KANDEL (1884- ) translated the 12 lesser prophets for the „Frenkel Bible”. IZSÁK PFEIFER-PAP (1884-1945?) translator of the ’’Frenkel Bible” and a poet. MIKSA WEISZ (1872-1931), a teacher of practical theology and translator of the „Frenkel Bible”. JENŐ ZSOLDOS (1896-1972), editor of The Jewish Review and translator of the „Frenkel Bible”.86 ARNOLD KISS (1896-1940), Chief Rabbi of Budapest and teacher of Hebrew poetry at Rabbinical Training-College. He translated the Song of Songs in verse and published it in Budapest (1927). IGNÁC FÜREDI FÜHRER (1837-1906) studied both in Calvinist school and in jeshiba. Later he finished the Catholic Teacher-Training College at Pest. At Sátoraljaújhely he became a Jewish school teacher.
