DECRETAL LETTERS 7 kingdom, Church and society at that time, a feature which Holtzmann noted also for Norway in his edition of Norwegian decretals through the same period.6 The letters of papal advice to Hungarian prelates on judicial procedures and juristic principles are also noteworthy — the Romano-canonical principle actor forum rei sequatur, for instance, appears in phraseological variants in two decretals.7 In the following survey of Hungarian decretals, the letters are arranged in the following sequence: Kingdom of Hungary : I.
