RECENSIONS 249 Finally, Chapter Ten examines a less frequently discussed area - the aspects of the Vatican City State’s proper law. The six studies here provide a precise overview of the subject (Rodolfo C. Barra, Jesús Bogarin Diaz, Matteo Cami, Francesco Margiotta Broglio, Pietro Parolin, Fabio Vecchi). Among these I would like to underline the convincing arguments of Card. Pietro Parolin (.Normative Vaticana e controllo di conformitä canonica). The festive volume is introduced by a brief dedication by Mons. Fernando Ocáriz Brana, Prelate of Opus Dei, and a biography as well as a bibliography of Juan Ignacio Arrieta, followed by eight greetings (i.e. S.Em.a R.ma Julián Herranz, S.Em.a R.ma Angelo Scola, S.Em.a R.ma Mauro Piacenza, S.Em.a R. ma Miguel Angel Ayuso Guixot, Kiko Argüello, S.E.R. Filippo Iannone, S. E.R. Bernard A. Hebda, Mons. Luigi Mistö), then can be read the Tabula gratulatoria. At the end of the work there is an index of the names of the referred authors. The collected volume, Studio di diritto del governo e dell ’organizzazione della Chiesa, is, as is clearly evident from the explanation above, an outstanding synthesis of contemporary canon law and its recent results, especially in the field of the people of God and the hierarchical structure of the Church, as well as in the field of ecclesiastical administrative and property law. The editors have succeeded not only in paying tribute to the work of Professor S.E.R. Juan Ignacio Arrieta Ochoa de Chinchetru, but also in presenting a number of specific aspects of canon law which illustrate the high level of research currently underway in canon law and the broad - and clear - theories behind it. The considerable contributions in this volume will certainly make the work indispensable for future use at international level by academics, specialists and administers of canon law. Normas y estándares canonicos, Instituto Martin de Azpilcueta Canonica, EUNSA, Pamplona 2022, pp. 244 The last one and half decades have seen a revival of research in the field of ecclesiastical administrative law. Several international conferences have examined this issue, including the Sixteenth World Congress of the International Society of Canon Law in Rome from October 4th to 7th 2017. In the field of scholarly analysis, the most notable increase has happened since 2011 with regard to the publication of relevant studies which explain the process of ecclesiastical administration and the characteristics of general and specific administrative acts. Administrative activity, following the terminology of the current Code of Canon Law, involves the exercise of the ecclesiastical execu
