SACRA THEOLOGIA - Mihály Kránitz, Theology of inculturation among churches at the beginning of the 21"' century and the role of the Catholic Theological Institutions

THEOLOGY OF INCULTURATION AMONG CHURCHES... 17 institutions could transmit the wisdom that considers the first and fundamental principles of reality, and seeks the ultimate and fullest meaning of life.35 Finally I would close my paper with a statement of the Congregation for Catholic Education on the reform of higher institutes of religion sciences. The Faculties of Theology and those institutes which are incorporated, aggregated and affiliated, assure the student of the full and complete formation in theology. This is an opportunity to participate in a deepening of the truth with an eye to accompany an increase in faith of the people and the entire community.36 The role of the Catholic theological institution is inestimable to cooperate in proclaiming the Good News to the world. Jesus Christ is exactly the Incarnate Word. He communicates himself to us, and we, Christians have to proclaim together, that Jesus Christ is true God and true man. It is basic for the search for unity among cultures, traditions and churches that higher educational Christian institutes speak together in the dialogues about Jesus Christ, proclaiming both his divine and human natures and his saving activity. A fundamental unity in the faith exists, wherever Christians, church communities even Catholic institutions confess Jesus Christ as only mediator of salvation according to the Scriptures.37 Together the Christians can pray that they may grow in true discipleship; can reflect upon the New Testament; can rediscover common traditions; and writings and witnesses related to Jesus Christ and can study theological or spiritual resources.38 We can conclude our reflections about the relationship between Catholic theological institutions and interreligious and ecumenical dialogue with the recommendation of the Pontifical Council for Culture’s document, entitled The presence of the Church in the University and University Culture (1994). that remains permanent for the 21th century too: “Service of the individuals involved in the Catholic theological institutions, and through them, service of society, the presence of the Church in the university milieu enters into the process of en- culturation of the faith, as a requirement of evangelization”.39 35 See: Decree on the Reform of Ecclesiastical Studies of Philosophy, n. 4. 36 Congregation for Catholic Education, Reform of Higher Institutes of Religions Sciences, n. 2. http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/ccatheduc/documents/rc_con_ccatheduc_ doc_20080628_istruzione_en.html.
