FOLIA CANONICA 5 (2002) 245-246. “EASTERN LEGAL THOUGHT” Annual of the Syro Malabar Major Archiépiscopal Tribunal (A Canonical Review from the Indian Church) The Syro Malabar Eastern Catholic Church in India was raised to Major Archiepicopal status on 16 December 1992. The Superior and Ordinary Tribu­nals of this Major Archiépiscopal Church was constituted in the year 1994 ac­cording to the Eastern Code (CCEO). Since then, the Ordinary Tribunal have been administering justice as the apex tribunal of this Church. Under the auspices of the Syro Malabar Major Archiépiscopal Ordinary Tri­bunal, a canonical review under the title Eastern Legal Thought is published. It is started as an ‘Annual’ and the first issue will be out in June 2002. It is intended to help all those who are interested to know about canon law and jurisprudence, es­pecially in the Indian context.
